Crawl budget

What is crawl budget?

"Crawl budget" is the term for the amount of computing power that Google's crawlers allocate to your domain. In other words, it is the number of new URLs from your website that Google indexes within a given time period.

Not all websites are assigned the same crawl budget. Typically, domains with greater authority in Google's eyes will have a larger crawl budget than smaller and newer websites.

This can be a problem for large sites with too small a crawl budget. It is therefore important to ensure that your crawl budget is optimised as much as possible.

If you do not optimise your crawl budget, you risk that new products, categories, and other new pages will not be indexed as quickly or as extensively as they would have been had you optimised your crawl budget.
