What is Yandex?
Yandex Search is a search engine developed by a Russian company of the same name. Yandex is the largest online search engine in Russia and therefore larger than Google in the country.
The search engine is primarily widespread in Russia. However, it is also used in other countries, mainly Eastern European countries such as Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Why is the search engine more popular than Google in these countries?
First and foremost, Yandex is owned by a Russian company, which is one of the reasons for its great success in Russia. Secondly, the search engine is better at understanding Cyrillic characters, which are the letters used in Russian.
