Damgaard has been a central figure at Searchmind since he started as an intern in March 2016. Today he is COO and partner, and his journey through the company reflects not only his personal development but also Searchmind's growth. A long journey at Searchmind
Damgaard joined Searchmind as an intern in March 2016 and has been part of almost the entire journey. After a brief break of 10 months, during which he worked at another agency, he returned and has since played a central role in the company's development.
A typical day as COO
As COO, Damgaard is responsible for a wide range of tasks, spanning from driving the company's internal marketing strategy to being part of the management team. He also serves as the person responsible for People & Culture. "I handle a great deal of what goes on internally at Searchmind," says Damgaard.
The best part of the job
For Damgaard, it is above all the colleagues who make the work special. "We have a fantastic team spirit, and we are good at bringing out the best in each other. We also get on really well socially," he says. He greatly values the flexibility that makes it possible to balance work and family life, especially with two young children. Damgaard emphasises that it is a major advantage to work somewhere you are passionate about what you do and create results together with clients.

Damgaard's journey at Searchmind has been marked by continuous development and expanding areas of responsibility. Here is a detailed timeline of his journey through the company:
March 2016: Damgaard joins Searchmind as an intern. At the time, Searchmind was a small agency with only its founders, Anders Bjerre and Brian Ahle. The work focused primarily on SEO and Google Ads.
After the internship: Damgaard is hired full-time as Searchmind's first Client Manager. He takes on responsibility for advising clients on their marketing strategy and helps optimise their online presence.
Head of Clients: Damgaard becomes responsible for building and leading the Client Management team. He works to create an effective team capable of advising clients at a high level and ensuring that work is always tailored to client needs. This resulted in a team of 9 full-time client managers.
Operations Director & COO: Damgaard changes title and takes on responsibility for Searchmind's operational management. During this period, he assumes responsibility for the company's internal processes and structure as a whole, while working closely with leadership to ensure the company's growth and development.
Partner: Following successful leadership and company development, Damgaard becomes a partner at Searchmind. He now plays an even greater role in shaping the company's future and continuing to create value for both clients and employees.
Today: Damgaard has handed over the reins to his first hire at Searchmind, Martin Hansen, who now takes on the responsibility and elevates the team to a new level. Damgaard has shifted his own focus and now works more on Searchmind as a business, where he is responsible for developing strategies that ensure Searchmind can continue to grow and evolve as a strong player in the industry.
Damgaard as a handball player and family man
When Damgaard is not at work, he can still find time for a handball match. Although he no longer plays at the highest level, he has played handball his entire life and has had a great passion for the sport. Today, he is first and foremost a family man who values time with his two young daughters. "I have just been on one of the annual ski trips, and I hope that this year we can arrange a Searchmind ski trip," Damgaard says with a smile.
