5 Years with Karsten Hansen – Director of Owned Media at Searchmind

This year we celebrate a 5-year anniversary with Karsten Hansen, our Director of Owned Media, who has played a central role in Searchmind's development and success. From his start as Head of SEO to his current role, he has helped shape the service we offer our clients and drive growth both internally and externally.

A journey through Searchmind

When Karsten joined Searchmind 5 years ago, he was Head of SEO. His task was to develop both the department and the employees he was responsible for, as well as the SEO service we offered our clients.

Today he is Director of Owned Media, where he is responsible for our SEO, Email Marketing and Content/Creative departments. Here he works closely with talented managers and employees to ensure we deliver results for our clients. "I am proud to work with a team that constantly strives to deliver the best for our clients," says Karsten about his role.

A typical working day

As Director of Owned Media, Karsten has many different tasks. A typical day for him involves helping our clients with their digital challenges, as well as sparring with and developing the teams he is responsible for. "I am constantly working to ensure our teams are on the right track. It's about developing our skills and working purposefully towards our shared goals," he explains.

The best part of the job is the talented people he has the pleasure of working with every day. "I especially enjoy when we can solve problems and challenges for our clients together, and when we can make a concrete difference with the expert knowledge we possess."

Searchmind as a workplace

What makes Searchmind an attractive place to work? For Karsten, it's all about flexibility and the great atmosphere. "Flexibility is a major advantage in my everyday life, where it's important to make everything fit together. At the same time, it's a great gift to work in a company where the atmosphere is always good and where we are part of a community," he says.

He also loves the atmosphere at the office, located in the heart of Aarhus. "There's an energy at the office that makes you look forward to coming to work – and that really means something day to day," he says with a smile.

Sourdough rolls and numbers

A fun fact about Karsten is that he bakes approximately 1,050 sourdough rolls per year on average. "The most shocking part of that calculation is probably that I also help eat 1,050 sourdough rolls a year," he laughs. A passion for digital development and sourdough rolls – it's a combination that works for Karsten!
