Account based marketing

What is account based marketing and sales?

Account Based Marketing (also known by the abbreviation: ABM) is a form of B2B sales and marketing in which you target companies rather than individual people.

Within account based marketing, you as a company tailor your messages all the way down to the individual company or segment rather than individual people, as you would "normally" do. This is done, among other reasons, because the B2B buying process typically involves multiple people, and because you can target your ideal customer (in the form of a company, which is a B2B business's actual customer, rather than an individual).
Account based marketing is a newer method within B2B marketing that more and more companies are experiencing great success with.

What is an account based marketing (ABM) strategy?

An account based marketing strategy (also called an ABM strategy) is a plan for how you achieve your B2B marketing and sales goals directed at companies.

Your ABM strategy typically includes the following:

  • Target audience
  • Choice of channels
  • Choice of messages
  • Mapping of the customer journey
  • KPIs
  • Lead scoring

And much more.
