Aarhus Bad & Fliser has a strong high-end range within tiles, bathroom furniture and bathroom interiors. These are products in a price range and category where consumers research thoroughly, compare alternatives and have a longer buying journey before making their final decision.
For Searchmind, the task was therefore not simply about generating more generic traffic. It was about strategic profit optimisation and the digital transformation of their Google Ads account.
The challenge: Scaling without unnecessary budget waste
Aarhus Bad & Fliser already held a strong market position. Performance was stable, but lacked the gear shift needed to truly scale growth.
The challenge was the classic growth trap for e-commerce: How do you scale revenue significantly without simply increasing ad spend at a correspondingly unprofitable rate? Since renovating a bathroom, for example, involves major considerations and lengthy research, the risk of budget waste on broad, non-committal searches was considerable.
The goal was therefore crystal clear: Google Ads needed to be transformed from chasing generic traffic and click volume to being optimised towards the specific products, campaigns and searches that moved the real bottom line and maximised the value of every single ad pound.
The effort: Value-based account structure and POAS management
To meet the objective, we stripped the existing account and rebuilt a focused, value-based Google Ads structure. The effort was centred around three strategic pillars:
Margin-driven push: Campaigns were segmented so that products with high margins and large basket values were allocated the majority of the budget in order to maximise the business's overall profit.
Agile budget and bid management: Bid strategies, product groups and search terms were continuously monitored and adjusted in real time to match user behaviour at the different stages of the purchase journey.
Implementation of POAS: The effort was truly future-proofed by integrating POAS via the Reaktion tool. This shifted KPI management away from traditional revenue optimisation towards optimising against the real, actual gross margin directly within the Google Ads algorithm.
The results: More than a threefold increase in revenue
The effort paid off immediately. In the period January–April (YoY), the new setup delivered exceptional figures across the most important business parameters:
January - April 2026 (YoY)
Increase in Google Ads revenue
Increase in conversion value per purchase
Increase in ROAS
Increase in CTR
Increase in spend
The strategic takeaway
Revenue grew significantly faster than ad spend. While spend increased at a controlled rate of 74%, revenue exploded by 222% – representing more than a tripling compared to the previous year.
This proves beyond doubt that the growth was not bought through an uncontrolled budget increase, but was created through intelligent, value-based segmentation of the product categories with the greatest commercial potential.
